Hurryat Faniad - Clinical Psychologist (Telehealth)
Hurryat Faniad is a Clinical Psychologist registered with AHPRA and is a member of the Australian Psychology Society (APS). He has completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University and the University of Western Sydney, respectively.
Hurryat has extensive experience in providing clinical and psychosocial interventions to a diverse population of Adults living with a wide range of mental and physical health conditions. Not to forget, he has been interested and experienced in providing assessment and therapy for children (6-16 years old) living with mental disorders such as Anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders and behavioural issues.
Given that Hurryat has lived in many different countries overseas, he provides culturally sensitive and personalised therapy/service to clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. He is fluent in five languages (Dari, Farsi “Persian”, Urdu, Hindi and English) and has extensive experience working with CALD patients.
Hurryat has been interested and efficient in providing support to clients with mood disorders (e.g. depression, anxiety), substance abuse disorder, Pain management, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Anger issues, Stress-issues, Sleep disorders, eating disorders and more chronic disorders such as Schizophrenia and Bi-polar disorders.
Hurryat has a holistic approach in providing psychological interventions, considering physical, social and financial stressors that could contribute to the overall mental health concerns. He utilises psychometrics and a number of evidence-based psychological interventions to suit his clients and in reaching their therapeutic goals, which includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
